South Island Seismic Network maintenance 🔨
In collaboration with the Research Centre for prediction of Earthquakes and Volcanic Eruptions, Tohoku University (Japan), Kyoto university (Japan) and the University of Canterbury, Southern Geophysical completes a routine maintenance check of the Japanese Seismic Network. Our seasoned technicians spend 2 weeks in the field travelling to each of the 45 seismic stations, spread across the northern half of the South Island. We have been completing this check every six months since 2011. Check out some photos from our recent trips across the South Island!
